(ĐN)- Five primary students aged 6-11 drowned at a local canal last week in Dong Nai province's Xuan Loc district.
The deaths occurred when one of the victims took a false step and fell into the canal. Four students tried to rescue him, but all sank exhausted.
Local authorities and sponsors visited the families of the victims and gave them financial support.
At the same day, two other children fell into a deep water area in the lake and drowned
More than 50 students have drowned in the province over the past five years.
