The seminar was held by National Steering Committee for overcoming the consequences of toxic chemicals used by the US in the Vietnam War (Committee 33).
At the seminar, Dr. Le Ke Son, Director of the Committee 33 Office, said Mechano-Chemical Destruction (MCD) technology will be used to clean up dioxin at Bien Hoa airport.
The technology provides a safe way to clean soil at low costs and help mitigate the negative effects of the dioxin on the environment and human health.
He also stressed that further efforts should be made by local authorities to improve the quality of information on the harmful effects of AO/dioxin, the risk to the environment and people’s health.
Removal of the dioxin is expected to begin soon and be completed in 2020.
