On Sunday, the police, in collaboration with the provincial Forest Protection Division, caught red-handed Le Van Het and four employees at a wood-cutting workshop in the province's Tan Phu District unloading rare wood from a lorry with a fake number plate.
Het's wife and workshop owner, Nguyen Thi Hoa, failed to provide proper invoices for the wood.
A search of the workshop found more than 83 cu.mof rare wood without any certificates of origin.
Hoa told the police that she purchased the wood from sellers in Lam Dong Province and sold them to many stores in the province's Bien Hoa City.
The workshop was opened in April 2010, police said.
