One crew member went missing and 11 others were rescued yesterday when their clinker liner was wrecked in a collision on the Nha Be River at the border between Dong Nai province and HCM city's Nha Be district.
The liner Bien Nam 17, carrying more than 3,000 tonnes of clinker from the northern province of Quang Nam to Hiep Phuoc Port in HCM city, tilted after it hit two anchored vessels.
The crew members were saved by a rescue team operated by the Dai Minh TTE Company, who were working nearby.
The rescue team also installed a floating fence to prevent 8,000 litres of oil from leaking from the vessel.
