9,600 households to escape poverty

(ĐN)- Dong Nai is now home to 32,158 poor households, accounting for 5% of the population. It aims to reduce the rate of poor households in the province by 1.5% in 2012.

(ĐN)- Dong Nai is now home to 32,158 poor households, accounting for 5% of the population. It aims to reduce the rate of poor households in the province by 1.5% in 2012. Accordingly, around 9,600 households are expected to escape poverty by the end of the year.

To meet this target, the province plans to implement several measures, especially strengthening propaganda activities to raise awareness and encourage the poor to help themselves and each other to escape poverty.

It will continue to provide support through loans, agricultural extension services, vocational training, building houses and provision of free health care and education, said the provincial poverty reduction programme steering committee.

Besides, the province will focus on building the plan for sustainable poverty alleviation program, gradually narrow the gap between the rich and the poor in the locality in the coming time.

According to Department of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs, Dong Nai also targets to solve job for more than 90,000 laborers next year. Particularly, 52,000 laborers will be recruited to work at private and foreign businesses, 200 others will be sent abroad for training and working,
