Construction of the over US$700-million thermoelectric power station in Ong Keo Industrial Park in Dong Nai province’s Nhon Trach district began in June 2009.

The 750MW Nhon Trach 2 plant as an independent power producer is estimated to generate more than 4 billion kWh of electricity annually, helping to ease the country’s power shortages.

Major machinery and equipment for the plant were supplied by the German contractor Siemens, including air turbines, steam turbines, electricity generators, heat collecting furnaces and main transformers.

At the ceremony, PetroVietnam Power NhonTrach 2 J.S Company received 3rd Labour Medal for aggressively building Nhon Trach 2 power plant, an important project to help stabilize power supply for national economic development.
