3rd provincial study encouragement congress to open tomorrow

(ĐN)- Dong Nai province’s Study Encouragement Association will hold its third congress for the 2011-2016 term on November 2.

According to Chairman of Dong Nai Study Encouragement Association Huynh Van Binh, the association has so far established 2,465 agencies with more than 132,000 members. Over the past years, the association’s study encouragement activities received active supports from individuals, organizations and enterprises inside and outside the province.

With the donations, the association awarded scholarships, built houses for students with difficult circumstances, constructed and upgraded schools in remote areas, presented bicycles and notebooks to poor students.
 
Besides, the association and its agencies provided annual awards totaling more than VND36 billion to over 508,000 teachers and students for their achievements in teaching and studying.

Its agencies also launched programs to raise money for study encouragement fund by mobilizing locals to put money in their clay pigs. All the proceeds from the clay pigs are used to help poor pupils continue their studies.  

Until now, more than 204,000 families in the province have registered to become “studious families”, of which 67,000 families have been honored at provincial level and some at national level.
