Joining hands to help the poor

(ĐN)- From the beginning of the year till now, Dong Nai province’s Fatherland Front Committee and its agencies raised nearly VND140 billion to build charity houses, help the poor improving their living standards and difficult students continue their study.

With this money, the front built 800 charity houses totaling more than VND19.8 billion, awarded scholarships to poor students, assisted difficult households to use the capital effectively to develop household economy contributing to poverty eradication.

Xuan Loc and Nhon Trach are the province’s leading localities in building charity houses. Accordingly, over the past nine month, Xuan Loc district’s Fund for the Poor built 126 houses worth a total of more than VND2.5 billion. In Nhon Trach district, 56 local poor households got houses totaling over VND1 billion. 

Over the past time, the campaign “Day for the Poor” has brought happiness to many poor families and won the support from all walks of life.
