Speaking at the ceremony, Secretary Tran Dinh Thanh urged the school implement effectively the campaign “Studying and Following the President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example” and the campaign "Friendly school, active students" launched by the Ministry of Education and Training. Thanh also pledged to present 6 laptops to teachers and students of the school, who will achieve excellent results in teaching and learning in the school year of 2011-2012.
*****The same day, Bui Ngoc Thanh, Head of the Mass Mobilisation Department of the provincial Party Committee attended the inaugural ceremony of the 2011-12 school year at Long Phuoc High School in Long Thanh district. The school saw the high graduation passing rate at 98 percent in the 2010-2011 school year. More than 30 students of the school has passed entrance exams for two universities in Ho Chi Minh city.
*****Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Tri also joined the teaching staff and students of Luong The Vinh High School in Bien Hoa city in the opening ceremony of the new school-year. The school has made many efforts to raise the quality of education and training activities It saw the highest graduation passing rate at 100 percent in the 2010-2011 school year. 94 percent of the school’s students have passed the university entrance exams. The school’s 44 students won prizes at the national contest of excellent students. One student from the school has got top marks in the entrance exams for Teacher Training University in Ho Chi Minh city.
At the ceremony, Tom and Warren Matsuda Scholarship Fund granted 9 scholarships worth VND 3 million to outstanding poor students of the school and Dong Nai branch of Saigon Thuong Tin Commercial Bank (Sacombank) also presented 10 scholarships worth VND 1 million to the school’s studious poor students.
***** Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Tran Van Vinh attended the inaugural ceremony of the 2011-12 school year at Nam Ha High School in Bien Hoa city. The total number of students in the school in the 2011-12 school year is more than 1,300.
At the ceremony, the school commended its 25 former students who were admitted into universities and they were given scholarships. The school also presented scholarships to 21 poor students. On this occasion, the school donated VND 14 million to the program “Collect stones to build Truong Sa (Spratly) Archipelago” launched by the Central Youth Union Committee and Tuoi Tre Newspaper. The donations were contributed by the school’s students.
