(ĐN) – On August 23, Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Le Hong Phuong had a working session with Tan Phu district’s authorities on the implementation of the provincial Party Committee’s Plan No.97 and Directions No.03 on agriculture, farmers, rural area and vocational training project for rural laborers.
After two years of implementation of Plan No.97, Tan Phu district raised nearly VND164 billion for rural infrastructure development and more than VND1,600 billion for agricultural production development; it also set up growing areas for vegetables, corn and rice, provided farmers with solutions for improving crop quality and increasing yield on a sustainable basis.
However, most farmers still lead difficult lives, the number of poor households account for 30 percent.
Addressing at the working session, Mr. Phuong acknowledged efforts made by the distrist over the past time and stressed that the district should focus on caring for the spiritual and cultural life for the local people by reorganizing production and renewing technology so as to improve their incomes.
