on Agust 9, a get-together was held in In Nhon Trach district. The district currently has more than 1,000 AO/dioxin victims, many of them are living in difficult conditions. On this occasion, 28 enterprises donated VND 168 million for the Fund for AO/Dioxin victims in the district.
On the same day, the Association of AO/dioxin Victims of Long Thanh district also held a get- together. More than 400 people were exposed to AO/dioxin in the district, with 219 of them, now suffering from AO/dioxin related health issues. For many years, the district’s authorities and local people have given spiritual and material support to help AO victims and their families. Over the past four years, 136 enterprises, organisions and individuals in the district have contributed almost VND 800 million to help AO victims in the locality. On this occasion, the district’s AO/dioxin Victims Association presented 60 gifts worth VND 500,000 to AO vctims in the locality.
Also on Agust 9, a volunteer doctors delegation from Dong Nai Red Cross Association provided free medical check-ups and medicine to 144 AO victims, former political prisoners and war invalids, woulded soldiers and policy families in An Phuoc commune, Long Thanh district. Earlier in late July, the delegation provided free medical check-ups and medicine as well as presented gifts to 345 people in the four districts of Tan Phu, Dinh Quan, Xuan Loc and Cam My. The total cost of the program was estimated at over VND100 million.
