According to incomplete statistics, Dong Nai currently has 13,145 AO/dioxin victims, including over 3,000 children under 18. For many years, the provincial authorities and people in the province have given spiritual and material support to help AO victims and their families.
Adressing at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Tri stressed that the need to focus on mobilising community strength to reduce the pain of AO victims and help them to overcome their difficulties and improve their living conditions.
At the meeting, 15 organisations donated VND 1.75 billion to the Dong Nai Fund for AO/Dioxin victims.
Also at the event, the provincial People’s Committee awarded certificates of merit to 27 organisions and individuals for their achivements in taking care of AO victims during the past four years.
