Vietnam News Agency (VNA) general director Tran Mai Huong yesterday signed a general agreement on multimedia co-operation with Dinh Quoc Thai, chairman of the Dong Nai Province People’s Committee.
Huong said VNA, as the nation’s leading news organisation with ties to 40 news agencies in other countries, would bring out the image of Dong Nai to the rest of the country and the world.
"VNA will publish official information, refute fallacies, and orient the masses to aid the local authorities with its management and supervision activities," he said.
According to the agreement, the southern province would prioritise the provision of early information of the current affairs happening in the province. For urgent or sensitive cases, the province would feed information about its standpoints and prospective measures to the VNA for publication.
Regarding the false flow of information in the province, VNA would help verify and refute stories, contributing to a stable society.
Thai hoped that via the VNA network, the potential strengths of Dong Nai would reach both the domestic and international investors and the people at large.
