On July 27, Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Le Hong Phuong, Chairwoman of the provincial Fatherland Front Committee Nguyen Thi Kim Lien, Head of the Mass Mobilisation Department Bui Ngoc Thanh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Tri and representatives from local agencies and departments attended incense-offering ceremony and candle-lighting ceremony at the province’s martyrs cemetery to commemorate the heroes and martyrs who sacrificed their lives for national independence.
Also on July 27, a delegation from Dong Nai Food and Industry Corporation (Dofico), Dong Nai Newspaper and Dong Nai province’s AO/Dioxin Victims Association visited and presented gifts worth VND 200,000 each and VND 2 milliion in cash to five heroic mothers in Long Thanh district.
The delegation also offered 16 scholarships valued at VND 1 million each and gave gifts worth VND 200,000 each to students of AO/Dioxin victim families in the two districts of Long Thanh and Xuan Loc. The gifts were sponsored by Shinshu Nt Co., Ltd. located in Trang Bom district.
Earlier on July 26, Engineer Brigade 25 under the Military Zone No. 7 provided free medical check-ups and medicines to more than 100 disabled people, the poor and policy beneficiaries in the two communes of Xuan Thanh and Bau Ham 2 in Thong Nhat district. The cost of the program was estimated at more than VND60 million.
In Thong Nhat district, the War Veterans Association of the district has sent a delegation to visit and present gifts to 40 war invalids and wounded soldiers in the locality.
In Long Thanh district, representatives of local authorities have visited and presented gifts to 5 heroic mothers and 2 heroes of the People's Armed Forces living in the district..
In Long Khanh town, local government has sent delegations to visit and present gifts worth a total of VND 86.7 million to policy families in the locality. On this occasion, leaders of the district, representatives of local departments and agencies and people burnt incense at the district’s Martyrs Cemetery to commemorate the heroes and martyrs who sacrificed their lives for national independence.
In Tan Phu district, local Department of Labour, War Invalid and Social Affairs visited and gave a gift to Heroic Mother Nguyen Thi Ky aged 83 living in hamlet 2, Nam Cat Tien commune.
