(ĐN)- The summer activities program 2011 themed “Summer volunteering – Summer training” kicked off Tuesday morning in Dong Nai province.
The program focuses on educating children and youth about patriotic traditions and raise their awareness of environment protection, helping children in deep-lying and remote areas and implement charity activities… In addition, many traditional games and other entertainment activities will be held during the summer, create a useful playground for children and teenagers.
Earlier on Monday, 1,275 students from junior and senior high schools across Xuan Loc district attended the launching ceremony of the summer activities program 2011 at the district’s Children House. The event was organised by the Xuan Loc district sterring committee for summer activities.

The summer activities in the district will focus on organising various activities for children including visiting historical relics, visiting families of war martyrs and invalids and revolutionary families, raising children’s awareness of environment protection, helping poor children… In addition, many programs will be implemented in the district during the summer to gear toward children such as organising a forum for children, presenting 100 scholarships to poor students in the locality. Especially, to remind children of the dangers of lakes and ponds, caution and warning signs should be posted along the perimeter of the districts lakes and ponds.
