(ĐN)- Dong Nai province’s Health Department and the province’s Social Insurance Agency recently held a meeting to review the implementation of the Law on Health Insurance in 2010.
There are 200 hospitals and health clinics in Dong Nai which provide care and treatment for people with heath insurance cards. So far, 1,38 million people in the province have bought health insurance cards, accounting for 55.6 per cent of the provinces population. In 2010, around 3.2 million insured patients got outpatient treatment while over 178,000 others received inpatient treatment.
The province’s Social Insurance Agency said that more than VND740 billion had been collected last year. However, the number of health insurance buyers in Dong Nai is still low so the province could find it difficult to reach its target of issuing health insurance cards for the whole population in the province by 2014, according to the assessment of the Agency.
