According to the report, in 2010, the associations established 1,300 branches with 550,000 member, raised VND185 billion for humanitarian and charity activities such as offering relief aid to flood victims, providing capital support to difficult families, presenting gifts to the poor, etc.
Besides, the associations’ blood donation campaigns have been implemented effectively with the active participation of people from all walks of life, accordingly, more than 53,000 blood units were collected this year.
In 2011, the Red Cross Associations in Southeastern provinces will continue charity activities such as boosting public health care, launching humanitarian blood donation campaigns, helping AO/dioxin victims, etc.
