The Hanoi Teacher Training College will launch a class for the hearing-impaired in Hanoi funded by Nippon Foundation.
This is the second class for disabled people that have been funded by the foundation. Earlier in 1999, the first education project for the disabled was carried out in Dong Nai.
The project aims to offer opportunities for the hearing-impaired to take junior and senior high school level classes. After the first project 15 handicapped people graduated from university so far.
Since 2009, the NF has donated one million USD to the Hanoi Centre for Independent Living where serious disabled people benefit from many services such as personal coaching, learning independent living skills and joining in efforts to protect disabled people’s interests.
