| Giving poor children a happy Mid-autumn festival |
On Sept 20, Department of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs in cooperation with Dinh Quan district presented 200 gifts, including moon cakes and lanterns, to underprivileged children in a remote village in Dinh Quan district. The gifts totaling VND20 million are funded by Bibica Corporation. On this occasion, the corporation awarded three scholarships each worth VND1 million to studious poor students in the district’s Gia Tan and Tan Phu communes.
On the same day, the provincial Red Cross Association and some organizations, individuals visited and gave gifts to poor primary students in Vinh Cuu district’s Ma Da commune. According to plan, the delegation will offer Mid-autumn gifts to the handicapped and orphans in social centres in Bien Hoa city on Sept 21.
Earlier, on Sept 19, Reform School No.4 in Long Thanh district in cooperation with Department of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs, the provincial Youth Union and Children House organized an art performance program named “ Full Moon Festival”. On this occasion, the department presented 400 gifts to the school’s students.
Thong Nhat district Blind People’s Association also gave 16 gifts to its members’ children on the occasion of the Mid-Autumn Festival. Each gift worth VND150,000, including moon cakes, milk, notebooks and instant noodles.
