(ĐN)- Over the past ten years, many billions of dong have been donated to Long Khanh town’s Fund for the Poor to repair and build 1,556 houses for the needy.
The town’s Fatherland Front Committee has mobilized donations from local organizations and individuals to give scholarships, notebook, learning tools, clothes and bicycles to poor students.
In this period, the town handed over 118 houses and gave 328 water tanks for local poor ethnic minority households under the program 134, built a concentrated water supply system in Bau Tram commune.
The town’s program 135 has built rural infrastructure projects totaling approximately VND32 billion. The projects included low-tension line, rural roads, schools and clean water supply stations in remote areas.
So far this year, Long Khanh town have completed a programme to eliminate dilapidated houses of the poor. This is an encouraging results of ten years of implementing the campaign “the Day for the Poor”.
