The Vu Lan festival offers Buddhists a time to reflect and express their gratefulness to their mothers. This event is held annually in the seventh month of the lunar calendar.
On this occasion, Thanh Long pagoda has presented 200 gifts to single elderly people, the poor and people with disabilities in some wards in Bien Hoa city. In addition, the Pagoda also donated 2 tons of rice to poor ethnic minority people in the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak.
In two days from August 24-15, Ong Pagoda will offer 500 gifts to poor families in Buu Long, Hoa Binh , Quyet Thang and Buu Hoa wards in Bien Hoa city. The gifts totaling VND 50 million funded by the Chinese community in the locality.
Long Thien Pagoda located in Bien Hoa city’s Buu Hoa ward will distribute the rice and give money to the poor in the area on August 27.
