Youth volunteers begin Green Summer Campaign

Youth volunteers begun the 2008 Green Summer Campaign during the last week. Accordingly, in Long Thanh district’s Cam Duong commune, the volunteers of HCM City Industry University in cooperation with Bien Hoa Young Physicians Club offered check-ups and medicines for 200 local people, presented 2,000 notebooks, 120 sets of book, milk and cakes to children.

Youth volunteers begun the 2008 Green Summer Campaign during the last week. Accordingly, in Long Thanh district’s Cam Duong commune, the volunteers of HCM City Industry University in cooperation with Bien Hoa Young Physicians Club offered check-ups and medicines for 200 local people, presented 2,000 notebooks, 120 sets of book, milk and cakes to children with a total cost of VND30 million. Before that, they also organized entertainment activities for children and visited policy families.

 

In Nhon Trach district’s Vinh Thanh commune, Lac Hong University’s students coordinated with local youths and 696 Naval Base to upgrade 2,700 metres of rural traffic roads, helped improve sanitation, dredged 700 metres of canals, presented 15 gifts to policy families and poor pupils.

 

In Trang Bom district’s Bau Ham commune, the volunteers of Dong Nai Teachers’ College and Health College provided free check-ups and medicines worth more than VND10 million for 400 people and children in the local. The delegation visited and offered 7 gifts to policy families, gave 1,000 notebooks and 6 bicycles worth a total of VND6 million to poor children. Besides, the volunteers held youth exchange activities and summer activities for children.

 

In Dinh Quan district’s Gia Canh commune, the students of Dong Nai Teachers’ College helped local people to upgrade rural roads, raise awareness of environmental protection, road traffic law,   food safety and hygiene. In the morning of July 21, the delegation visited and presented 8 gifts to policy families, granted 1,000 notebooks and 6 bicycles to poor pupils in the commune.
