(ĐN)- Yesterday, October 3, the Bien Hoa City’s Committee for Catholic Solidarity held a conference to review its activities in the 2002-2007 period.
During the past five years, Catholic followers in Bien Hoa city have actively responded to patriotic emulation movements launched by the city’s Fatherland Front as well as charitable activities. Particularly, they contributed approximately VND30 billion to repair roads and 41 bridges, build 395 charity houses, provide charity meals for poor patients, care for HIV/AIDS and leprosy patients. Besides, the Catholics also donated to build and repair 282 classrooms with total cost of VND3.8 billion, give 7,813 scholarships worth total VND2.3 billion to poor students in the local.
At the conference, the city Committee for Catholic Solidarity’s 30 members in the new tenure were also elected.
