(ĐN)- The Dong Nai Red Cross Association held a meeting late last week to review implementation of the programme of presenting wheelchairs for the disabled in the province for the 2000-2007 period. Present at the meeting were Tran Ngoc Tang, Chairman of the Viet Nam Red Cross Society, Nguyen Thi Kim Lien, vice president of the provincial Fatherland Front, Huynh Thi Nga, Vice Chairwoman of the provincial People’s Committee and a large number of donators.
The province’s Red Cross Association reported that the provincial Red Cross branches in Dong Nai have raised money from donators to provide 2895 wheelchairs worth over VND 4 billion to disabled people throughout the province during the past seven years. At the meeting, the Association handed 778 wheelchairs worth VND 835 million to the disabled and gave gifts valued at VND 130 million to them.
Speaking at the review meeting, Chairman of the Viet Nam Red Cross Society Tran Ngoc Tang applauded the Provincial Red Cross’s efforts in helping disabled people.
