(ĐN)- On July 27, the provincial Department of Culture and Information presided over a handing-over meeting of the first six months with press agencies.
In the first half of 2007, the province’s press agencies well implemented their propaganda tasks for the 12th National Assembly election (May 20) and the 60th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day (July 27). They made incessant efforts to improve their quality both in form and content in order to better meet the needs of readers and viewers inside and outside the province. Besides, the agencies has helped bring guidelines and policies of the Party and the Government to people, actively participated in the struggle against corruption, wrongdoings and dissipation, effectively contributed to the province’s socio-economic development and national defence-security. However, more efforts needed to improve their professional skills in order to meet the public’s increasing demand.
Speaking at the meeting, Director of the Department Nguyen Thanh Tri said that the press agencies need to continue to propagandize deeply and widely for the next important holidays including August Revolution and National Day (September 2), and especially for the second phase of the movement “Studying and following Ho Chi Minh’s moral example”.
