Domestic and international organisations and individuals have so far donated 997 billion VND (62 million USD) to disabled children through the National Fund for Vietnamese Children (NFVC).

The fund has launched many programmes in support of disabled children. One of these entitled "For Childrens Smiles" has, since its establishment in 1997, granted free surgeries to 13,000 harelip and cleft palate children at a total cost of over 19 billion VND.

Post-surgery treatment is addressed by the "Therapeutic Language" programme which has provided pronunciation training for 6,000 children after their harelip and cleft palate surgeries.

Meanwhile, over 17,000 children suffering from visual impairments have been provided with free surgeries through the "For Childrens Eyes" programme.
