Localities focus on preparing Tet for the poor, beneficiaries

Dong Nai Charity Association has just presented 14 charity houses worth a total of VND98 million and Tet gifts valued at VND250,000 each to poor families in Giong Trom and Ba Tri districts where suffering damages caused by the recent Typhoon Durian.

(ĐN)- More than 6,000 poor children, disabled and single elderly people in HCM city and five provinces of Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Long An, Tien Giang, Ben Tre were invited to the city’s Phu Tho Sporting Hall to participate in the program of “Welcoming Dinh Hoi Lunar New Year with Sacombank” organized by the bank. Accordingly, the participants will receive Tet gifts worth VND160,000 each. Total cost of the program was about VND1.8 billion funded by Sacombank.

 

* Dong Nai Charity Association has just presented 14 charity houses worth a total of VND98 million and Tet gifts valued at VND250,000 each to poor families in Giong Trom and Ba Tri districts where suffering damages caused by the recent Typhoon Durian. In addition, the association provided free check ups and granted gifts to 400 poor people in Ben Tre province. The association also visited and  awarded Tet gifts to families in difficult circumstances in Trang Bom district and Quyet Thang ward, Bien Hoa city.     

 

* At the same time, Nhon Trach district mobilized and presented 3,090 Tet gifts to the poor, policy families, single elderly people, Agent Orange victims, orphans and disabled children in the district. The gifts, worth between VND100,000 and VND300,000 each, included rice, sugar, cooking oil, instant noodle, seasoning powder, cake, etc.

    

* On the occasion of Dinh Hoi Lunar New Year, Bien Hoa City Police’s leaders presented 50 gifts worth VND100,000 each and the city’s Committee for Population, Family and Children awarded 32 gifts valued at VND50,000 to poor children in Thong Nhat ward, Bien Hoa city.

 

At this time, the delegations from Thong Nhat ward’s Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee visited and presented Tet gifts worth VND21 million to families of invalids and martyrs, Agent Orange victims, and poor families in the ward.
