This center has a design capacity of up to 500,000 genomes/year.

Representatives of Genetica and NIC signed a cooperation agreement.

This is a joint project between Genetica and the National Innovation Center to serve the growing needs of gene sequencing, research and application of genetic information in Vietnam and the region.

The center is scheduled to be put into operation in the first phase in the fourth quarter of 2021 to help reduce testing costs and waiting time for results to less than 30 days compared to usual.

The gene sequencing center in Vietnam meets standards of Genetica's laboratory in the US such as CLIA, CAP, and complies with the HIPAA health confidentiality act.

Cao Anh Tuan, CEO of Genetic, said: "Initially, our plan was to set up this center in Singapore. But the plan changed when I met Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung in the US. I was very impressed when he said that the Vietnamese government would create the best conditions for scientists from the US to come to Vietnam."

Genetica's genetic decoding results are accepted worldwide. Customers only need to decode genes once and apply for a lifetime, and can be used for medical examination and treatment purposes at medical facilities and hospitals abroad.

This center will also be the place to serve Genetica's genetic research, with many leading hospitals in the world and in Vietnam to bring new discoveries about genetic diseases and contribute to the development of gene therapy regimens.
