After being granted the licence in October, VNPT fulfilled enough conditions to be able to officially provide the 4G service on broadband 1,800 MHz.
The reason for the group to choose Phu Quoc as the first place to introduce 4G is that it is a tourism island with a large number of visitors annually.
Besides this, the island is implementing a plan to become the first smart city of the country. The coverage and launch of 4G service in Phu Quoc will boost the development of the island.
VNPT has been piloting the 4G network on the island since January this year and has achieved good results.
4G is the fourth generation of telecommunication technology that is tens of times faster than the previous generation.
