(ĐN)- Lac Hong University has sent two energy-efficiency vehicles to participate in the fuel-efficient vehicles’ contest Shell Eco-marathon Asia 2016 which will take place in Manila, the Philippines.
The university sets its target to defend champion title which it had secured last year.
The participating vehicles of the university are better designed than the car which went first in last year competition. Their weight is reduced from 135kg to 60kg, helping to save more energy. One of the two vehicles is designed to run by alcohol and can travel 200km with only one liter of alcohol while the other can travel150km with only one liter of ethanol gasoline.
The marathon, held annually by Shell, is a contest for students of technical majors to design, build and test ultra energy-efficient vehicles. In addition to be a playing ground in technology and application, the event will offer a chance for students to understand how to prepare for, design and operate a vehicle and take use of available fuels.
