(ĐN)- On the occasion of Vietnam Science and Technology Day (May 18), Head of the Dong Nai provincial Party Committee’s Commission for Communications and Education Huynh Van Toi led a delegation to visit and extend greetings to the provincial Union of Science and Technology Associations (USTA).
Mr Huynh Van Toi read the congratulatory letter of Dong Nai provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee and Fatherland Front sent to science and technology intellectuals, saying the provincial leaders acknowledged and highly appreciated contributions made by the intellectuals for the province’s development.
He said local science and technology should be developed to meet the demand of globalization and international integration, adding the need of stronger development in sci-tech potentials with the focus on scientific researches for application in the field of agriculture and rural development and breakthrough in science infrastructure, technology as well as high quality sci-tech human resources.
USTA is now home to 33 associations with more than 12,600 members. Over the past years, USTA has cooperated with relevant agencies to honor 10 typical science and technology intellectuals, participated and won high prizes in creative sci-tech contests.
This August, USTA will host a seminar on Vietnam creative science-technology with the country modernization.
