(ĐN)- Dong Nai now has three internet television providers namely VNPT, FPT and Viettel with a total number of nearly 100,000 subscribers. Of the total, FPT obtains a lion’s share of the Internet TV market with 40,000 subscribers while VNPT Dong Nai has more than 30,000 subscribers.
The providers have forecast the number of their Internet TV customers will increase within the next years. Accordingly, they plan to expand more online services after upgrading their internet infrastructure.
Dong Nai is considered as potential clients of Internet TV service. The number of Internet TV users will grow sharply in the coming time owing to heavy investments made by service operators and the soaring number of broad-band Internet users. Television service providers would take this as an opportunity to compete for market share. Particularly, they will make efforts to improve service quality, diversify service forms, and help customers use telephone, television, and data services with only one cable. They will also offer some discounts and gifts for customers registering to use the service.
Unlike other pay TV services such as digital TV or cable TV, Internet TV enables a wide range of services on the same network and offers other services like movies on demand, karaoke or even video calling in the future.
