(ĐN)- The Ministry of Science and Technology and the Software Alliance last Monday launched a month-long campaign to commemorate the World Intellectual Property Day (April 26).
The campaign, lasting from March 31-April 30, is aimed at improving public understanding of intellectual property laws to enhance the recognition, application, development and protection of intellectual property rights; promote research and innovation, apply science and technology for greater productivity and socioeconomic development in Viet Nam, and help the society be well-prepared for Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) accession.
In Dong Nai, the provincial Department of Science and Technology (DoST) has boosted the inspections of intellectual property rights enforcement at 25-30 enterprises a year. DoST has also hold training sessions on registering goods trademarks and intellectual property rights protection.
During the 2011 to 2014 period, the department received nearly 3,000 dossiers for appraisal of initiatives in various fields. Many Science and Technology programs to support local businesses to increase their competitiveness, apply advanced quality management system, and implement intellectual property rights protection in 2011-2015 integration period were launched to help 140 units, including 121 trademarks, 7 industrial designs, 5 inventions, 18 websites, etc.
