Vietnam wins seven prizes at int'l robotics contest

Vietnamese students brought home seven prizes from the Digital Youth Award (DYA) 2014, an international robotics contest held recently in Malaysia.

Vietnamese students brought home seven prizes from the Digital Youth Award (DYA) 2014, an international robotics contest held recently in Malaysia.

The awards include one primary-class first prize, one high-class second prize, three Distinction and two Excellence prizes.

Themed ‘Urban waste management’, DYA 2014 attracted students aged 6-13 from host Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore and Vietnam.

Vietnam sent 24 teams to the competition, coming from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang city.

The contest provided students a chance to compete in the field of applied IT and design robotic solutions which help deal with pressing issues arising in modern cities.
