The event, which is scheduled to take place in India on August 24, attracts teams from 16 countries and territories in the Asia-Pacific region.
Themed “Robot family”, this year’s competition emphasizes the role parents play in bringing up children to become good citizens.
Participating teams will design a robot–based family, including a robot parent (controlled by hands) and robot children (controlled automatically).
Addressing the ceremony, Mr Huynh Van Toi recommended Lac Hong robot delegation to take efforts to achieve the best result at the contest as well as uphold the nation’s tradition of unyielding spirit, unity and peace loving that make Vietnamese always beautiful in international people's eyes to compete at the intellectual competition.
The university targets to win the first ever championship at the contest after three times winning second prizes at this contest.
Vietnam has so far championed the ABU Robocon three times in 2002, 2004 and 2006.
