E-book is expected to unburden pupils carrying heavy school bags. Users can also update all editions for free, thus saving parents and students the cost of buying new books.

The e-book is a comprehensive set of more than 300 textbooks under the Ministry of Education and Training's standard programmes from first to 12th grade.

The e-book, measuring 8.8 mm in width and weighing 500 grams, will help to unburden pupils carrying heavy school bags. Users can also update all editions for free, thus saving parents and students the cost of buying new books.

The e-book is integrated with the Viet Nam Education Publishing House through www.classbook.vn with thousands of textbooks, reference books as well as several applications dedicated to education, training, and study.

In addition, users can also benefit from the sample lectures available on the social network violet.vn.

The product has also been integrated with the "Shaping the way we teach English" curriculum from the University of Oregon and is jointly funded by the US Embassy to Viet Nam and the ministry. It provides training content for teachers under the B1 and B2 standards as well as English for high school students.

The e-book, which has an Intel Atom processor, dual-core Intel Clover Trail +, 1 GB RAM, and 16 GB internal memory, has the capacity to hold 1,600 e-books or conventional 110 interactive multimedia books.

It is integrated with micro, speakers, and HDMI, which enables the teachers to easily connect with classrooms.

In the context of digitalisation, a modern education environment with advanced technologies in teaching and learning has become a priority for the education sector.

The new generation e-book is expected to bring new teaching and learning methods to help learners gain knowledge in an innovative manner.

Pham Thuc Truong Luong, the director of EDC Company, which developed the product noted that there was over 10,000 e-book users in Viet Nam, including students and teachers since its first launch last June.

Esys Joint Stock Company is the official distributor of the e-book in Viet Nam.

The event is part of the "Computers for Life" programme initiated by the Ministry of Information and Communications to standardise computing in remote areas across the nation.
