The US’s Microsoft Corporate will provide Vietnam’s education sector with application software and training programmes in 2013-2014 to help improve IT application in teaching and management.
An agreement to this effect was signed by representatives of the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) and the Microsoft Vietnam office in Hanoi on November 19.
Under the agreement, Vietnamese schools will have access to licensed Microsoft Office 365 software free of charge as well as the Shape the Future programme to make it easier for their teaching and studying programmes.
Since the first memorandum of understanding (MoU) on IT cooperation with Microsoft was inked during the visit to the US by then Prime Minister Phan Van Khai in 2005 and renewed, 65,000 teachers and 2.1 million students at 5,150 schools across Vietnam have benefited from this programme.
