(ĐN)- On January 5, a ceremony was held at Dong Nai province’s Conference Center to give Vietnamese Young Scientific Talents Award 2012 to hundreds of students and young lecturers.
Standing Deputy Secretary Le Hong Phuong of the provincial Party Committee, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Tran Quang Quy, Vice Chairwoman Huynh Thi Nga of the provincial People’s Council and Vice Chairman Nguyen Thanh Tri of the provincial People’s Committee attended the ceremony.

The event was co-organized by the Ministry of Education and Training, the Ministry of Science and Technology, Viet Nam Union of Scientific and Technological Associations, the Central Youth Union, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Lac Hong University.
Addressing at the ceremony, Deputy Minister Tran Quang Quy stressed that this year's award attracted a large number of scientific studies with high practical applicability.
At the ceremony, the awards were given to 546 students for 226 subjects. Of these, 26 students received first prize, 37 got the second prize, 157 received third prize and 326 got consolation prize. This is the first time such awards were also given to young lecturers as well-which included 10 first prizes, five second prizes and 22 third prizes.
Accordingly, Lac Hong University’s lecturers and students won 2 first prizes, 3 second prizes and 1 consolation prize.
The Vietnam Young Science Talent Award has been organized annually since 1989 for students nationwide.
