A UK-Vietnam clean energy conference (UK-VN CECE 2012) was held at Danang University of Technology on September 10.
Present among participants were Vietnamese and British scientists who focused on issues related to the development and application of renewable energy in Vietnam.
British scientists spoke of the latest research projects to develop wind and tidal energy technology and turn the cooking oil waste from restaurants and hotels into biodiesel which is more environmentally friendly.
Representatives from the Ministry of Industry and Trade said that they are involved in a number of projects under the national target energy-saving program.
Vietnam’s industrial development strategy in the 2011-20 period with a vision to 2030 aims to promote the efficient use of energy, renewable energy and energy-saving technologies and reduce greenhouse gas emissions through sustainable organic agriculture development and green growth.
