A delegation from the Ministry of Science and Technology visited India from September 9-17 and met with representatives of several government departments to carry out the bilateral cooperation programme on technology.
Within the cooperation programme, signed in March 2012 by the Ministry and the Department of Biotechnology (DBT) at India’s Ministry of Science and Technology, the delegation visited four DBT research centres and proposed potential areas for cooperation in agriculture and health.
At a meeting in the capital, New Delhi, on September 17, India agreed to send a senior delegation to a conference in Vietnam in November to define prior orientations for future cooperation in biotechnology between the two countries.
In terms of IT, the delegation met with representatives of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to discuss joint working in network safety and security. They reached a consensus on the signing of a national-level agreement in this field in the future.
The Vietnamese delegation also met with representatives from the Indian Space Research Organisation in Bangalore to discuss the possibility of bilateral cooperation in cosmography, especially in the development of small satellites.
