Vietnam contributed seven chief security officers in the 10 most outstanding chief security officers in the third CSO ASEAN Awards 2011.
The event was organised by International Data Group (IDG) in conjunction with Department of Information and Communications of Ho Chi Minh City (DIC), Vietnam Computer Emergency Response Team (VNCERT).
The winners were Nguyen Huu Chinh, director of IT Department under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Pham Trong Diem CSO of GNT Vietnam, Nguyen Hung Thanh director of IT Centre of Vietcombank, Frank Schellenberg CEO of GHP Far East Vietnam, Ngo Quang Huy technology manager of Vietnam Computer Emergency Response Team, Ly Minh Tuan director of ICT Center of Department of Information & Communications of Ho Chi Minh City and Pham Quang Tuyen deputy director of IT Department of General Department of Vietnam Customs.
First organised in 2009, CSO ASEAN Awards aims to honour the most outstanding CSOs in Vietnam and ASEAN, whose responsibilities are policy-making and implementing information security solutions to ensure the continuous and stable business operations.
After two consecutive editions, CSO ASEAN Awards honored 23 outstanding CSOs in the ASEAN region. The third CSO ASEAN Awards received 94 nominations in the region, including 58 from Vietnam and 36 from the other ASEAN nations.
