Vietnam Internet Network Information Center donates 36,000 '.vn' domain names to units and schools in Dong Nai

On October 9, within the framework of a series of activities at Techfest Dong Nai 2025, the Vietnam Internet Network Information Center (VNNIC), a unit under the Ministry of Science and Technology, in coordination with the Department of Science and Technology of Dong Nai province, donated 36,000 domain names with the ".vn" extension and accompanying digital services (website, email, etc.) to people, students, business households, and enterprises in the province.

According to Do Quang Trung, Head of the Vietnam Internet Network Information Center (VNNIC) branch in Ho Chi Minh City, VNNIC has donated 36,000 "id.vn" and "biz.vn" domain names and accompanying digital services to political-social organizations and educational units in Dong Nai, including: Dong Nai Provincial Youth Union, Dong Nai Union of Science and Technology Associations, Dong Nai University, Lac Hong University, the Vietnam National University of Forestry – Dong Nai Campus (VNUF2),  Dong Nai College of High Technology (DCoHT), and Mien Dong College.

The program is implemented with the aim of providing people, students, businesses, and business households with safe and reliable digital tools to develop their online presence. At the same time, it has practical significance in popularizing the national ".vn" domain name, raising awareness of Vietnam's digital sovereignty and digital identity, as well as bringing national internet resources closer to the community.

The donation of "id.vn" and "biz.vn" domain names along with digital services (such as websites and email) provides practical digital tools for people, students, business households, and newly established enterprises for a period of one year, who are in need of support in technology and digital skills, thereby helping raise awareness, enhance capabilities, and foster faster, more sustainable, and more confident development amid digital transformation across all sectors.

On this occasion, a VNNIC representative also presented the topic “Digital presence with the '.vn' domain – Linking four stakeholders to contribute to the development of the local digital economy and society.” The presentation emphasized the coordinating role among the central government, local authorities, businesses, and the community in implementing online presence programs using the national ".vn" domain.
