On March 3, the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee (PPC), People’s Council, People’s Committee and Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Committee jointly organized a gathering with outstanding dignitaries and officials of religions, village elders and reputable figures among ethnic minority communities on the occasion of the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026.

The gathering was attended by Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the PPC and Head of Dong Nai Provincial Delegation of NA deputies Vu Hong Van, Deputy Secretary of the PPC and Chairwoman of the Dong Nai VFF Committee Huynh Thi Hang, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Le Truong Son, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Head of the PPC’s Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilization Duong Minh Dung, Member of the PPC and Deputy Head of the Provincial Delegation of NA deputies Dieu Huynh Sang, along with leaders of provincial departments and agencies.

As part of the program, provincial leaders and 150 outstanding dignitaries and officials of religions, village elders and reputable ethnic minority representatives offered incense at the President Ho Chi Minh Temple located on the premises of the PPC.

At the meeting, provincial leaders briefed delegates on key socio-economic, national defense and security achievements in 2025, as well as major orientations and tasks for 2026. At the same time, they listened to and acknowledged recommendations and opinions from dignitaries and officials of religions, village elders and reputable ethnic minority figures.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Secretary of the PPC Huynh Thi Hang emphasized that the meeting demonstrated the spirit of respecting and staying close to the people, while promoting the strength of the great national unity bloc, in which dignitaries and officials of religions, village elders and reputable ethnic minority figures play an especially important role.

Provincial leaders expressed appreciation for the companionship and contributions of religious organizations, particularly during the recent process of administrative unit reorganization and apparatus consolidation.

The Provincial Party Standing Committee voiced hope and confidence that religious organizations would continue to accompany Party committees, authorities and people in building Dong Nai into a green, prosperous, civilized and modern province.

To further promote the strength of great national unity bloc, Huynh Thi Hang called on Party committees, authorities, the VFF and religious dignitaries and officials, as well as village elders and reputable ethnic minority figures to continue effectively implementing the Party’s guidelines and the State’s policies and laws on ethnicity and religion. She stressed the need to stay close to the people, engage in proactive dialogue and promptly address legitimate aspirations of religious organizations and ethnic minority communities.

Authorities were urged to create the most favorable conditions for religions to operate in accordance with their charters, statutes and the law, while the VFF at all levels should further enhance its role as a bridge between authorities and religious organizations.

Religious dignitaries and officials, as well as village elders and reputable figures were encouraged to continue serving as bridges, guiding followers and residents to uphold the motto of “good life, beautiful faith” and accompany the nation. They were also called upon to actively participate in patriotic emulation movements, new-style rural development, civilized urban building and the preservation of traditional cultural values.

Notably, on March 15, voters nationwide will exercise their democratic rights by electing deputies to the 16th NA and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 tenure.
Given the large number of religious followers and ethnic minority residents in the province, provincial leaders expressed their hope that religious dignitaries, officials, village elders and reputable figures would actively disseminate information and mobilize voters at religious establishments and villages to fully exercise their rights and obligations, wisely select qualified representatives and contribute to the success of the election.
