Joining the delegation were Ton Ngoc Hanh, Member of the Party Central Committee and Standing Deputy Secretary of the PPC and Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Council; Nguyen Van Ut, Deputy Secretary of the PPC and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; Vo Tan Duc, Deputy Secretary of the PPC; Huynh Thi Hang, Deputy Secretary of the PPC and Chairwoman of the Provincial VFF Committee; Thai Bao, Deputy Secretary of the PPC and Head of the PPC’s Organization Commission; along with members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Standing members of the People’s Council, People’s Committee and VFF Committee, and leaders of departments and agencies.

At the Nguyen Huu Canh Temple in Tran Bien ward, in the solemn atmosphere of the days leading up to Tet and commemorating the Party’s founding anniversary, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the PPC and Head of the Dong Nai Delegation of NA deputies Vu Hong Van and delegates respectfully offered flowers and incense in remembrance of the great contributions of Nguyen Huu Canh, honored as a Superior Deity.

More than 325 years ago, in 1698, Marquis Nguyen Huu Canh played a pivotal role in surveying the land, establishing sovereignty and laying the foundation for the development of the Dong Nai – Gia Dinh region. Before the spirit of the forebear, delegates observed a minute of silence and expressed profound gratitude to the meritorious pioneer who expanded the southern frontier.

Deeply moved as he wrote in the temple’s guestbook, the PPC’s Secretary Vu Hong Van noted: “In this moment of harmony between heaven and earth, as the entire nation welcomes a new Spring – the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026 – the PPC, People’s Council, People’s Committee and VFF Committee respectfully offer incense and flowers to Marquis Nguyen Huu Canh, a distinguished meritorious mandarin who made great contributions to reclaiming and opening up the land of Dong Nai. Thanks to the pioneering efforts of our forefathers, today’s generations enjoy a life of peace and prosperity. We express our boundless gratitude to the revered predecessor – Marquis Nguyen Huu Canh.”

Subsequently, the delegation offered incense at Tran Bien Temple of Literature. Built in 1715, this was the first temple of literature established in Dang Trong (the Southern Realm), aimed at honoring cultural and educational values and the studious spirit of the Southern land. The site is regarded as a symbol of the “Dong Nai heroic spirit,” where President Ho Chi Minh, along with forebears and the world’s cultural figures, is worshipped. With its ancient architecture set amid lush greenery, it serves as an important spiritual destination where provincial leaders and residents regularly conduct offering ceremonies on major anniversaries and Tet holidays.

The incense-offering activities on the occasion of the Party’s 96th founding anniversary and the upcoming Lunar New Year reflect a cherished cultural tradition and embody the principle of “When drinking water, remember its source” upheld by the Provincial Party organization and people. It also provided an opportunity for provincial leaders to report achievements to the Party, President Ho Chi Minh and the forebears regarding comprehensive accomplishments in Party building and socio-economic development.

In the joyful atmosphere ahead of the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026, the ceremony demonstrated the solidarity and determination of the provincial leadership to preserve and promote heritage values, thereby creating strong spiritual momentum to continue building Dong Nai into an increasingly prosperous and civilized locality, worthy of the glorious traditions of the Party and the nation.
