Proud of our Party

Every time Tet comes and spring unfolds, our Communist Party of Vietnam marks one more year of its founding. The words “our Party” are close and familiar, yet sacred and a profound source of pride for the entire Vietnamese nation.

Under the leadership of the Party and great President Ho Chi Minh, the Vietnamese people have advanced from one victory to another, steadily moving forward on the path toward socialism.

PROUD TO HAVE THE PARTY, PROUD TO HAVE UNCLE HO

Hero of the People’s Armed Forces Trinh Xuan Thieu, a resident of Cam My commune in Dong Nai province, now nearly 80, still vividly remembers the fierce years of war waged by the Vietnamese people against foreign invaders.

Thieu recalled that during the resistance war, Vietnamese forces had to confront the enemy’s brutality, overwhelming firepower, constant danger and the ever-present risk of death. In the most perilous moments, however, he and his comrades drew strength from President Ho Chi Minh’s appeal to the entire nation to rise up and defeat the U.S. aggressors, published in Nhan Dan Newspaper on November 3, 1968. Now advanced in age and living with various health conditions, Thieu is no longer able to fully participate in local activities as before. Nevertheless, with the responsibility of a Party member, he continues to closely follow major political events of the Party and the State, including the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 – 2025), the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, and most recently, the 14th National Party Congress.

“In my heart, the pride in our Party has always remained intact. Only with the Party and President Ho Chi Minh has the entire Vietnamese nation been able to reach the shores of happiness.” – Trinh Xuan Thieu said.

According to him, throughout the course of leading the revolution, the Party has forged many valuable traditions that reflect its noble character. These include absolute loyalty to the interests of the nation and the people, steadfast commitment to the goals and ideals of national independence associated with socialism, grounded in Marxism–Leninism and Ho Chi Minh Thought. Only by following the revolutionary path chosen by the Party and President Ho Chi Minh could the Vietnamese revolution achieve complete victory, the country attain true independence, the nation enjoy genuine freedom, and the people secure increasingly prosperous and happy lives. The Party is inseparably bound to the people, always taking service to the people as its purpose and guiding principle. From the earliest days, the people have nurtured and protected the Party, placing their trust in it and actively striving to implement its guidelines and policies. The source of the Party’s strength lies in its close bond with the people and in harnessing the power of great national unity.

Entering a new era of development, the documents of the 14th National Party Congress reaffirm the consistent principle that “the people are the roots.” The unity between the Party’s will and the people’s aspirations is the source of strength and the fundamental driving force ensuring rapid and sustainable national development.

Celebrating the Party’s 96th spring, Party committees and organizations across Dong Nai province are holding various activities to celebrate the Party, the spring and the country’s renewal, as each anniversary of the Party’s founding is inseparably linked with springs of prosperity and happiness for the nation.

This is a noble reward and a sacred milestone in my long journey of tireless dedication and self-discipline under the Party’s glorious flag; it serves as a profound reminder for me to always uphold the faith, responsibility and honor of a Party member.”

STEADFASTLY FOLLOWING THE PARTY

Party member Nguyen Thanh Nghi said that after nearly 40 years of service in the Vietnam People’s Army, he retired in 2019. Reflecting on his career, he noted that his achievements were the result of the Party’s leadership, education and continuous training, as well as the support and assistance of comrades and fellow Party members throughout his service.

At a meeting with leaders of Dong Nai and Binh Phuoc provinces from different periods held on January 27, Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Council Ton Ngoc Hanh supposed that under the leadership of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam achieved independence and national reunification, overcame war, embargoes and complex global challenges, gradually advanced national development and international integration, and steadily improved the people’s living standards.

“After 40 years in the ranks of the Party, I have always maintained unwavering faith in the Party and in the revolutionary path chosen by the Party, Uncle Ho and our people. Proud of our glorious Party and great Uncle Ho, every cadre, Party member, Party organization and every citizen becomes more deeply aware of their roles and responsibilities, pledging to follow the Party and contribute to building an increasingly clean and strong Party, so that our Party will forever be worthy of being the vanguard flag of the working class, the people and the nation.”

The ninety-six years of practice have affirmed a fundamental truth: the correct leadership of the Party is the decisive factor in every victory of the Vietnamese revolution.

The 14th National Party Congress was held with great success, setting overarching goals of maintaining peace and stability, achieving rapid and sustainable development, comprehensively improving people’s living standards, becoming a developing country with modern industry and upper-middle income by 2030, and a high-income developed country by 2045. The Congress targeted average GDP growth of over 10% per year during the 2026–2030 period, with GDP per capita reaching approximately USD 8,500 by 2030.

Despite complex and unpredictable global developments, in 2025, Vietnam maintained political and social stability, ensured national defense and security, and recorded strong economic growth. GDP reached USD 514 billion, up 8.02%, ranking among the world’s leading growth rates. GDP per capita reached USD 5,026, officially placing Vietnam among upper-middle-income countries, while the country’s international standing and prestige continued to rise.

Within this national context, Dong Nai province, newly formed through the merger of the former Dong Nai and Binh Phuoc provinces, has made substantial efforts to stabilize its administrative apparatus while accelerating socio-economic development and achieving notable results - highly commendable and a source of pride. The province’s economic scale now approaches VND 700 trillion, ranking fourth nationwide. GRDP growth reached 9.63%, the highest in the past decade and seventh nationwide. GRDP per capita reached VND 150.8 million, while state budget revenue totaled nearly VND 103 trillion.

The Resolution of the first Provincial Party Congress for the 2025–2030 term sets the goal of basically meeting the criteria of a centrally governed city by 2030, pursuing green, prosperous, civilized and modern development. During the 2025–2030 period, the province aims for average GRDP growth of 10–12% per year, with total GRDP exceeding VND 1.2 quadrillion and GRDP per capita surpassing VND 250 million by 2030.

To realize these objectives, the province has identified 23 major programs and schemes along with 46 key projects, while implementing synchronized task groups with foundational, leading and spillover effects.

With pride in the glorious Party, the great Uncle  and the heroic Vietnamese nation, and with firm confidence in the wise leadership of the genuine revolutionary Party and the strength of the great national unity of the cultured and heroic Vietnamese people, the entire Party, people and armed forces of Dong Nai Province always act in unity of will and action; take the initiative, pioneer and innovate; seize opportunities and overcome challenges; build on achievements gained in recent years; promptly address difficulties, obstacles and barriers; and remain determined to successfully implement the goals and tasks set forth in the resolutions of Party congresses at all levels, building Dong Nai into a prosperous, civilized and modern province together with the country as it moves confidently into a new era of development.
