Economy maintains solid growth momentum
Reporting at the meeting, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Director of the Department of Finance (DoF) Truong Thi Huong Binh said that the province’s socio-economic situation in January maintained growth momentum with many positive signals. The industrial production index rose by nearly 2.5 percent compared to the previous month; agricultural, forestry and fishery production remained stable; and Tet goods supply was well ensured. The Provincial People’s Committee is considering approving decentralization for the appraisal of planning tasks, commune-level master plans and overall site planning for projects spanning multiple communes.
Also in January, the province simultaneously organized commencement, ground-breaking, and technical traffic opening ceremonies for many projects in celebration of the 14th National Party Congress and the anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam on February 3. State budget revenue exceeded 17.1 trillion VND, equivalent to 17 percent of the estimate, while budget expenditure reached more than 2.5 trillion VND. Domestic and foreign investment attraction continued to increase. Labor relations at enterprises remained stable, with no strikes recorded.

The Director of the DoF noted that in February, the department will continue to advise on adjustments to the provincial master plan and implement solutions to meet the annual budget revenue target.
Despite the positive results, several shortcomings remain. Progress in formulating general and zoning urban plans, especially the plan for the provincial political–administrative center, has yet to meet requirements. Some construction investment projects are facing legal obstacles that affect progress. The preparation of commune-level land-use plans, land reviews and public land funds remains slow; determining specific land prices and organizing auctions continues to face difficulties. The risk of infectious disease outbreaks persists.
At the meeting, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade (DoIT) Pham Van Cuong said that goods supply for the Tet is basically ensured. In the coming period, the sector will step up trade promotion, supply–demand connectivity, stabilize the market for essential goods, and focus on removing obstacles in key energy projects to ensure electricity supply for production and consumption.
A representative of the Provincial Police said that the force has developed and is implementing plans to ensure security and order and food safety, while strengthening efforts to prevent and combat smuggling, trade fraud and prohibited goods before, during and after Tet.

Priority given to caring for people during Tet
Deputy Secretary of the PPC and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Ut assessed that the province’s socio-economic situation in January continued to grow well. The results are clearly reflected in budget revenue, public investment disbursement, and the launch and operation of a series of projects. Cultural, social, health, education, and science and technology sectors were also implemented in a coordinated manner, contributing to the stabilization of people’s livelihoods.
Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee noted that tasks for 2026 are substantial, requiring heads of departments, sectors and localities to provide direct leadership, closely monitor progress, and proactively coordinate across sectors to remove bottlenecks. At the same time, greater responsibility, discipline and administrative order must be upheld to comprehensively complete targets, striving for growth of over 10 percent.
Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Ut requested agencies and units to decisively and synchronously implement key tasks and solutions, including effectively operating the two-tier local government model; continuing administrative streamlining; improving the quality of services for residents and businesses; implementing measures to promote economic growth in 2026; and accelerating adjustments to the Dong Nai provincial master plan to ensure submission for approval before March 1, 2026.

In addition, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee required the acceleration of public investment disbursement from the beginning of the year; effective implementation of measures to increase budget revenue; and a comprehensive review of delayed projects to advise on handling them in accordance with authority.
“The current key task is to mobilize maximum resources to care for people during Tet, especially workers, laborers, poor households and families under preferential policies; ensure sufficient goods supply, maintain security and order, and proactively prevent and control disease outbreaks. Moreover, planning, land-use rights auctions, site clearance, public investment disbursement and budget revenue collection must be prioritized, implemented decisively and in compliance with regulations,” Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Ut stressed.
