The Hon Khoai island cluster belongs to Dat Mui commune, Ca Mau province, approximately 14km from the nearest mainland point, and is also the gateway from the East into the Gulf of Thailand. The Hon Khoai island cluster consists of 5 large and small islands: Hon Khoai, Hon Sao, Hon Go, Hon Doi Moi, and Hon Da Le. Notably, Hon Da Le is point A2, one of 12 points along our country's baseline.

Among the 5 islands, Hon Khoai has the largest area, about 4.1 square kilometers. There are no residents living on the island; there are 4 forces performing duties: Radar Station 595, Hon Khoai Border Guard Post, Hon Khoai Lighthouse Station, and Hon Khoai Forest Ranger Station.

Among the forces stationed on the island, Radar Station 595 is located at an altitude of 318m above sea level, performing combat readiness duties, observing, detecting, reporting, managing, and firmly grasping targets at sea and low-altitude air; contributing to firmly protecting the sovereignty of the Southwestern sea, islands, and continental shelf of the Fatherland and participating in preventing illegal fishing.

Currently, Radar Station 595 has been invested with modern facilities and equipment. The station's living and working areas are spacious, regular, and unified, meeting the requirements of the assigned tasks.
