In this context, the Customs Sub-Department of Region XVIII made strong efforts to carry out its assigned tasks, ensuring smooth customs operations and contributing to a stable production and business environment while facilitating enterprises in the area. The unit’s total import-export turnover exceeded 67 billion USD, accounting for about one-fifteenth of the national total. State budget revenue surpassed 22.7 trillion VND, reaching 105.6% of the statutory target and 102.3% of the assigned striving target. Alongside these achievements, the implementation process also revealed issues that need to be seriously reviewed and adjusted in the time ahead.

In 2026 and in the following years, Nguyen Kim Long, Standing Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, noted that Dong Nai is entering a new stage of development with multiple strategic drivers, including major infrastructure projects and orientations toward forming a logistics hub, an airport city, and a future free trade zone.

In this context, the Standing Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee requested the Customs Sub-Department of Region XVIII to focus on effectively carrying out several key tasks. Specifically, the unit should continue to strongly renew its management mindset and enhance the effectiveness of state management in customs, ensuring maximum facilitation for import-export activities while maintaining strict control, preventing risks, and combating budget revenue losses. It should accelerate administrative procedure reform and comprehensive digital transformation across professional operations. The unit was urged to place enterprises at the center of service delivery, use the satisfaction of citizens and businesses as a measure of performance, strengthen administrative discipline and order, and build a contingent of customs officers who are resilient, ethical, professional, and capable of meeting task requirements in the new period. It should also continue to promote close coordination with local authorities, departments, sectors, functional forces, and the business community; proactively address emerging difficulties and obstacles; and create a stable, transparent, and sustainable investment and business environment.
