Armed with political steadfastness, professional commitment, and a spirit of innovation, journalists in Dong Nai have continued to affirm their pioneering role on the ideological and cultural front, accompanying the province’s comprehensive development.

Affirming the role of the local Party press

The 2020–2025 term marked a period of significant transformation for Dong Nai journalism. The merger of Dong Nai and Binh Phuoc provinces not only expanded the region’s development scope but also introduced new demands for a journalistic mindset, a professional approach, and social responsibility. Media organizations across the province closely adhered to political orientations, promptly reflecting developments in socio-economic life, national defense, security, and Party-building efforts. They effectively identified and highlighted exemplary models and successful practices, promoted the replication of advanced examples, and disseminated positive and humanistic values throughout the community.

In addition to effectively fulfilling its role as a “bridge” between the Party, the government, and the people, Dong Nai journalism has also boldly delved into pressing issues of public concern. In doing so, it has contributed to shaping public opinion, fostering social consensus, and strengthening citizens’ trust in the Party and the State’s policies. Many investigative, analytical, and constructive reporting series have timely identified problems and proposed solutions that have received attention and acknowledgment from authorities at various levels.

According to journalist Ngoc Thu, Deputy Head of the Print Division at Dong Nai Newspaper and Radio, Television, in an era where social media develops rapidly and misinformation spreads easily, journalists in Dong Nai must play the role of “information gatekeepers”, ensuring both professional integrity and humanity in their reporting. Carefully verified news and articles strengthen readers’ confidence in official journalism. Reporting on areas such as politics, economics, culture, society, public security, the judiciary, firefighting, and rescue operations requires journalists to possess firm political awareness, professional competence, legal understanding, objectivity, and sharpness in every journalistic product.

During this period, the Dong Nai Journalists Association received financial support totaling 1.44 billion VND, which was invested in 220 high-quality journalistic works. As a result, over the past five years, journalists and members of the Association have achieved remarkable success, winning 8 National Press Awards, 11 National Awards for Journalism on Party Building, 15 Awards in the Political Essay Contest on Defending the Party’s Ideological Foundation, 11 Southeast Region Press Awards, 21 National Radio Festival Awards, and 13 National Television Festival Awards. In addition, many members have earned awards from ministries, sectors, and local authorities, further affirming the standing and influence of Dong Nai journalism within the modern media landscape.

Journalist Phuong Tinh, reporter of the News Department at Dong Nai Newspaper and Radio, Television, who has received numerous high-level awards at the provincial, regional, and national levels, shared: “The awards my colleagues and I have achieved during the past term are the result of our continuous effort, perseverance, and willingness to overcome difficulties to stay close to the pulse of life and the people of Dong Nai. Seeing the journalistic works of Dong Nai Newspaper and Radio, Television resonate with the public and earn their trust and affection serves as a powerful motivation for us journalists to continue dedicating ourselves and contributing to the profession".

A remarkable highlight of Dong Nai journalism during the past term has been its strong efforts in digital transformation and expanding its presence across digital platforms. In addition to its 4 traditional media formats - print, online, radio, and television - Dong Nai Newspaper and Radio, Television has actively published content on platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, and TikTok, attracting millions of followers. Dong Nai Newspaper and Radio, Television currently ranks third among the top 10 local Party newspapers with the highest number of YouTube followers, and sixth among the top 9 with the highest number of Facebook followers. This demonstrates the growing influence and widespread reach of Dong Nai journalism within the modern digital media landscape.

Journalist Kim Ngan, Head of the Online and Digital Content Division at Dong Nai Newspaper and Radio, Television, stated: The greatest challenge for online and digital journalism today is maintaining the balance between speed and accuracy. Even a 200-word news brief requires a strict verification process.

“The best approach is to accelerate the verification and information-handling workflow - prioritize publishing clear and transparent information first, while stories requiring deeper verification or careful consideration can take more time. Once the initial information is confirmed, it can then be freely distributed across social media platforms or edited to suit the audience's taste on each platform" - journalist Kim Ngan emphasized.

Spreading the spirit of innovation and inspiring the aspiration for development

Entering the 2025–2030 term, Dong Nai journalism faces new and higher demands for quality, effectiveness, and social responsibility. In the context of deep international integration, rapid digital transformation, and fierce competition among various forms of media, every press organization and every journalist must continuously renew themselves, enhance professionalism, and uphold journalistic ethics. The goal is not only to “write accurately and insightfully”, but also to keep pace with modern journalism trends through the “converged newsroom” model, developing multimedia and multi-platform journalism to deliver information to readers in the fastest and most engaging way possible.

As of July 1, 2025, Dong Nai Province officially began operating based on the merger between Dong Nai and Binh Phuoc provinces, in accordance with Resolution No. 202 of the National Assembly. On that basis, the new Dong Nai Journalists Association was established under Decision No. 212 of the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee, comprising 377 members organized into five sub-associations. Currently, Dong Nai has two official media agencies: Dong Nai Newspaper and Radio, Television (DNNRTV), and Dong Nai Literature and Arts Magazine (published monthly).

Journalist Minh Luan, Editor of the Print Division of Dong Nai Newspaper and Radio, Television, stated: “The 2025–2030 Congress of the Dong Nai Journalists Association marks an important milestone, reflecting the strong determination for innovation among journalists in the province in response to new development requirements. I hope that in the next term, the Association will continue to fulfill its guiding role effectively, fostering a practical and engaging professional environment that connects members, especially young reporters and editors”.

According to journalist Minh Luan, Dong Nai journalism must continue to invest in in-depth journalistic works - analytical, investigative, and constructive pieces that accurately and effectively address issues emerging from the province’s real-life development. Each journalistic work should not only provide information but also help spread positive energy, inspire dedication, and nurture a spirit of creativity and innovation throughout society.

Writer Hoang Ngoc Diep, Editor-in-Chief of Dong Nai Literature and Arts Magazine, expressed his expectations: “In the new term, Dong Nai journalism needs to accelerate and make bold breakthroughs, renewing its content and presentation methods to harmonize with the nation’s era of growth and effectively accompany the province’s and the country’s development” - writer Hoang Ngoc Diep emphasized.

With courage, intellect, and a spirit of innovation, the journalists of Dong Nai have been and will continue to stand alongside the Party, the government, and the people, carrying forward a proud tradition and further extending the reach and influence of Dong Nai journalism.
