Consistently achieving high results among military academies and schools, the Youth Union members at the Army Officer Training College 2 (Nguyen Hue University) located in Dong Nai province, have affirmed their pioneering role and made significant contributions, fostering the increasingly robust development of the school’s mass movements.

Accounting for more than 60 percent of the school’s total personnel, with over 90 percent of cadets of Youth Union age, this contingent serves as the core and vanguard force in fulfilling assigned tasks and contributing to the school’s overall achievements. As a result, the school has consistently fulfilled and excelled in its missions, earning high commendations from the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defence.

Devotion driven by passion

The Central Committee of the Youth Union recently concluded and presented awards for the First Writing Contest on “Protecting the Party’s ideological foundation among Youth Union members.” The entry My Path in the Colors of the National Flag by the author group Le Hai Ha, Vu Truong Duy, Do Tuan Anh, and Le Tran Phuong Ngan from the Army Officer Training College 2, in the video clip and radio–television category, was awarded Prize A.

Sharing this achievement, Captain Le Hai Ha expressed: “My co-authors and I created this work with the full devotion of a soldier, wholeheartedly loyal and devoted to the Fatherland and the people. The clearest message of the work is to convey a strong sense of civic responsibility and love for our homeland and country, as well as the ideals we pursue and serve – true to the title My Path in the Colors of the National Flag.”

An outstanding and exemplary cadet selected to represent the younger generation in delivering the oath at the opening ceremony of the 2025–2026 academic year, Sergeant Bui Quang Linh, Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union Chapter of Company 4, Battalion 9, earned the title of Outstanding Youth Union Member. He has also been recognized as a grassroots-level Emulation Fighter for two consecutive years, consistently taking the lead in Youth Union activities and the Youth Movement of his unit.

According to Sergeant Bui Quang Linh, every task must be carried out with dedication and a strong sense of responsibility for the common good and the collective’s success. When discussing innovative models and practices among cadets, he spoke enthusiastically about the Study Group model of Youth Union Chapter 4. The group brings together Youth Union members with good to excellent academic performance to serve as a core force in sharing study experience and even providing tutoring support to weaker cadets, enabling everyone to “progress together.”

“After more than a year of implementation, the year-end academic review showed that the Study Group of Youth Union Chapter 4 helped many members improve from average to good and excellent academic standing. In particular, for cadets preparing for graduation examinations – who are required to study theoretical subjects – the model has proven effective and continues to receive strong participation and support from Youth Union members and cadets within the cell” – Sergeant Bui Quang Linh added.

Continuing to ignite youthful energy

At the recent conference reviewing three years of Youth Union work and the Youth Movement at the Army Officer Training College 2, Major General Le Khac Huy, Member of the Party Standing Committee and Deputy Political Commissar of the school, emphasized that during the 2025–2030 term, party committees, commanders, departments, faculties, and units continue to strengthen leadership and direction over mass movements in general and Youth Union work in particular, regarding them as important and ongoing political tasks. This approach aims to further awaken and promote the power of youth within school, contributing positively to quality teaching and learning, training for combat readiness, and the effective implementation of movements and tasks assigned by higher echelons.

Major General Le Khac Huy called on party committees at all levels to continue leading the Youth Union in innovating and enhancing the quality and effectiveness of communication, education, and outreach within mass organizations; building a corps of cadres, Youth Union members, and association members with firm political resolve, strong moral character, solid professional competence, and skilled workmanship; individuals who dare to think, speak, act, take responsibility, innovate, create, confront difficulties and challenges, and act for the common good of the unit.

After their 3-year implementation of the Youth Union and Youth Movement activities, the Youth Union members and young people at the Army Officer Training College 2 have left numerous positive imprints. In recognition of these achievements, the school’s Youth Union work and Youth Movement have received numerous well-deserved awards from various levels.

Major General Le Khac Huy also specially noted that the school’s Youth Union continue to launch and vigorously implement the emulation movement “Three pioneering initiatives for decisive victory” among young people; further awaken and harness youthful energy so that the youth of the Army Officer Training College 2 truly remain pioneering, creative, resilient, and intellectually capable; accelerate digital transformation; and successfully accomplish assigned missions, living up to the noble title of Uncle Ho’s Soldiers in the new era. Youth must be the vanguard in implementing the Military’s movements on innovation, digital transformation, and digital literacy, thereby contributing to building a clean and strong Party Committee and a comprehensively strong school that is “exemplary and outstanding in all aspects.”

At the Conference summarizing three years of mass movement work at the Army Officer Training College 2, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thi Trang, an officer of the school’s Political Department, reported that: over the past decade, the school’s youth have developed 80 projects with more than 180 authors participating in the Military-wide Youth Innovation Awards. Among them, 44 projects won awards, with an average success rate of 55 percent. In 2015, the school submitted only three projects to the military-level competition; by 2024, this number increased to 17 projects and initiatives – more than a fivefold increase. In 2024 alone, the Army Officer Training College 2 achieved outstanding results with five third prizes and four consolation prizes.

Harnessing youthful dynamism on a future-oriented journey, the youth of the Army Officer Training College 2 have continued to make their mark through pioneering and voluntary action in fulfilling assigned tasks. They are carrying forward the school’s more than six decades of heroic tradition, striving for new achievements and new victories in the new era. Their efforts contribute to building a clean and strong school that is “exemplary and outstanding,” fulfilling missions with distinction, and helping to build a revolutionary, regular, elite, and modern military capable of firmly defending the Fatherland under all circumstances.
